I used MyBB and set up some categories, but then decided to jump right into vBulletin after I read some of the limitations of that and other free forum options.

Plus, I visited some of the more popular Disney-related forums and noticed that they all used vBulletin. So, as I did more research on vB, I noticed the community on vB.org and other sites and figured to jump in :D

Well they forced everyone to upgrade to UBB.Threads from what I understand. Threads was originally a different application that Infopop (now Groupee) bought in 2003 to compete with vBulletin funnily enough.

That's quite interesting - it's not a script that you see used that often. The only major organization that I've seen using UBB.threads is the MusicPlayer Network (more specifically, the MusicPlayer Forums).

The first script I ever used was actually something called Mercury Board. I don't know if it even exists right now...but I thought it was really cool and setup a site with it. Then I found SMF, and thought "wow, I've been missing out on a lot". And finally one day, two years ago, I came upon something called "Invision Power Board". Was hooked on the spot. :)
Of course, MyBB is very good as well.

MercuryBoard is indeed still around - I remember using that, as well.

MyBB's admin interface I have to say it's the easiest for me.

I voted phpBB in the poll, but that's not quite true.

I was an admin on an RBBS board, then I started my own QBBS board. I eventually upgraded that to Remote Access.

Then one day this "Internet" thing just sort of took over and washed BBS's away.

The very first forum script I used was phpbb... that one is still up, though updated to phpbb3 now. And still giving me headaches on a regular basis.

That's perfectly normal, particularly when dealing with that script.

SMF, MyBB and Vanilla weren't even glimmers in their authors' eyes when I first toyed with forums O_o

It was mostly just toying with it to help another person with their forum, however. Eventually I was on a Neverwinter Nights forum running Yabb SE, which eventually led me to finding SMF when it was released. For Elliquiy I went hunting a lot, but MyBB wasn't out and I never stumbled across Drupal to run a community on, and phpBB, well...
