Which free forum software is your favorite?

I noticed it on quite a few threads... No biggie.

Maybe - I'll consider it.

Oh yeah, quite frequently used... Mostly because it's the equivalent to vBulletin.

We're receiving quite the influx of ZetaBoards users apparently!

 

I wish I could write a persuasive eBook of why they shouldn't be using ZetaBaords. :devil:

 

I agree that ZB is not the most user-friendly script to deal with... but I suppose that it's a viable option for many.

Like I always say, people have to find what's best suitable for their needs.

 

I'd be interested in hearing (from these newly registered members) about their experiences with ZetaBoards.

For those who use ZetaBoards, what are your thoughts on the administrative interface?

 

I am a hard fan of MyBB, besides vB I think it's one of the better forum softwares really, Zetaboards.... <_< Really? SMF..... REALLY!? ¬¬

Question, could you install Zeta on your own server??? Because I might have an answer for this.

Nick is correct - at the moment, it's not a script that is available for download.

Not to be biased, but I don't see why someone wouldn't use MyBB (or maybe phpBB) as the free forum script of choice nowadays. Maybe they're used to what they have (Zetaboards), but if you were about to start a forum today, that seems odd to me.

 

It could be due to ZB's "ease of use and access", Savage. Think about it: most new forum owners and administrators have absolutely no idea about who to use when it comes to selecting a hosting provider. Seeing as the majority of free web hosts out there today are horrendous, going with a self-hosted script may seem like the easiest route to take.

 

I spoke to one of my friends who has Zetaboards and she told me the following.

"Well I don't know about those things, I have no money to pay for them so I picked the first one I saw, either way I already have it."

=\ If they knew how easy and free it can be.

 

I'm sure whatever they find from a Google search that appeals to them (the website itself) is probably part of the reason, too (which is kind of what you both said).

 

One's financial standpoint will for sure come into play - these free forum hosting providers are handy when it comes to that, I suppose.
