If you tried several others,at least by demo, you might not stay with phpBB3 for long.

Are you comparing SMF 1 or 2 with myBB?

It would be with SMF1 since I am not sure of upgrading to a beta 2.0 is a good idea with my forum having some messed up stuff sitting in it,courtesy of SMF flawed theme set up.

Since myBB allows me to have limited administrators (no access to core configuration),that is why I want to change my dormant SMF forum to it.Then I can upgrade my G.Moderator into a site administrator and work on theme changes as I have discussed with him over it.

I am aware that SMF 2.0 has more features and have known that for several months.

SMF 2 is in RC stage. Even Red and White Kop Liverpool FC Forum - Index is running RC2.

As for specific admin access to the theme edit, SMF 2 is easy to mod to get what you want.
Btw, a live forum is not the right place to play with themes. Why not just make a test forum, where the guy can play around?

The forum is DORMANT,not live and have NO intention of reviving it to what it was before.Since it is small and simple, the transfer should be small and simple. Then myBB will be that live forum to tinker with.

That is why it is the one to change over to myBB.It makes sense does it not?

Actually, I don't understand. You want to do a new theme. You want to test it with a dormant forum of yours. But because you can't give specific access to the themer, you convert to myBB. Then the themer makes a theme and then what happens if you don't like myBB? you convert back and ask the guy to do a new similar theme to SMF?

I CAN give him access in SMF just fine, but then he has access to the core settings, but in myBB I can keep him out and still allow him to tweak the existing myBB theme,NOT make a new theme at all.Babylon is adequate at my live forum now,but I am using the OXYGEN theme personally there, because the level of theme errors are low.

The dormant forum can be deleted,in the unlikely case that I do not like myBB.I kept the old forum for testing purposes for my two Global Moderators, whom I upgraded to administrator level.

Relax ok,we have been over this similar discussion at a different thread.

    ;)

The email thing was probably a server issue, and SMF has always had the ability to preview posts...

None. I'll either use vbulletin or ipb and nothing else.

I personally enjoy phpBB over any other free solution, I do dislike the high learning curve on customizing templates and editing it all around, would much rather go with vBulletin in that regard!

For me, it's probably MyBB. I've never used it, but since I've had a bad experience with SMF and phpBB, it's pretty much the only one left I might be able to use in the future.

Phpbb, definately. Its got most, if not all of the feature of vb, but in different ways, and is also free. I love its interface and just find it generally easy to use.
    Demo : free forums
