I live in North America. The continent, that is.

In the Mojave Desert of California. Sixty-five minutes northeast of Los Angeles. Fifty minutes southwest of Edwards AFB. A few hours from Death Valley and three and a half hours from Las Vegas. Yeah, we measure distance in time a lot here. Miles matter less than the amount of time and patience it takes to get anywhere. Especially when the speeds on the freeways range from zero to ninety miles per hour and can change within seconds.

I live about three hours away from Micheal Biddle. Could do it in ninety minutes if there wasn't any traffic but there is always traffic in Los Angeles through the Glendale and Dodger Stadium areas and again when you get close to Downey.

 

Wow, that sounds pretty cool. Is it like a small town?

 

Depends on what you consider small. The city I live in has almost 150,000 people. The city to the south about 3 miles has another 150,000. All together including a dozen towns and the two cities, we're close to half a million people in the region.

People that live in Los Angeles consider us a small town. People that live in Iowa, not so much.

 

Compared to some suburbs of Cleveland where I've lived, that's fairly large. One town that I recently moved from had 12,965 in 2008, so I guess that's large to me.

 

I live in a town with like only 500 people.

I live in the houses towards the west edge of that map. My yard has 10 trees in the yard (one of which is almost dead), 8 rose bushes and a honeysuckle vine on the front porch. If you can find it on the map, I'll buy you a virtual beer.

Nope. It is too close to Avenue J which is a major thoroughfare with freeway access. Too much noise. Nice large backyard though.
