Whats better: Dark or Light Themes?

I prefer light themes but there are also some dark themes that i like

 

I prefer light themes. I have trouble with dark themes because I have bad eyesight I guess. I don't stay away from dark themed forums though, I will still go to them if I like the content of the forum. I am bias to light themed forums though.

 

Yea alot more people prefer light themes I guess.

 

Light themes, definitely. Just easier on the eyes overall, you know?

Doesn't quite mean that dark themes can't be professional.

 

Generally I like dark theme, but not totally dark. XenPowa is my favourite dark them. For themes of white characters in black paper, it makes my eye tired.

For long time using, I like light theme. Flexile is my my default theme.

 

I like the darker skins cause it is easier on the eyes.

 

I like dark skins too, but now I finally started to like light skins...

 

Dark.. Light ones are ok, but mostly hurt my eyes.

 

Haha everyone here has a completely different choice of both not just one.

 

My forum is always set up with a dark skin. But then its discussions on the Paranormal so it makes sense that it is dark. I think light backgrounds are easier on the eye.

I like this skin on this forum with the light bit where the writing is but the darker edges. Looks good!

I think it depends on the niche. A darker theme may suite a gaming forum while a promotion / professional forum may want to look for a clean theme perhaps one that's white or "lighter".

 

I prefer light skins to be honest, but I like them both. My blog uses a light and dark theme. It's bright blue.

A light theme, I really dislike dark theme. Just not in my taste.

 

It depends on what site u are going to do tbh, Gaming is dark, Business skins are light

 

Yea has to do alot with the genre, but I like both.

 

Light. Much more "modern" "clean" and "simple". Those are the three words I use to describe how a good forum theme should look, along with light.
