    Nothing.

I think plans for Christmas at AA are splendid. I am in full agreement with the suggestions brought forth.

I think this is a good idea Chris. Maybe not an event per se but an active recongnition of the holiday seasons. I think making the small efforts to dazzle things up for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Winter holiday, etc. would feed the "community spirit" at AA.

Perhaps we could have a "coolest holiday avatar" contest or a thread about favorite holiday memories? People could vote on the best pic or story and then the winner would get a special rank tag for that holiday until the next year. (Because I don't think that prizes need to cost anything to be good.)

    Just brainstorming here.

How about post you in your costume, or if you don't celebrate Halloween, your disguise!

I have always run Secret Santa on my forum and it's a great thing. The members look forward to it all year, and they have a blast during the actual event. And it's certainly not too early to be thinking about it, because I open the submissions in about week or two from now. I might even do it this weekend. :)
The members need plenty of time to sign up, get assigned a recipient, buy the gifts, and mail them on time.

Anyways, I personally do not think a SSGE (Secret Santa Gift Exchange) is right for AA. The community isn't close enough, there aren't enough inter-member relationships, and it just doesn't seem like it would be successful enough to make it fun.

I'm not saying we shouldn't do something, but that SSGE doesn't seem appropriate for AA.

Christmas is 3 months away. 92 days to be precise.

Why would any site admin tell the users what is going to happen in three months time?

    For me too.

Ahh you trying to scare us already. :woohoo:

Maybe have the scariest poster contest. Could even go with the scariest signature.

I'll send Nutella Christmas cookies to anyone who links to my sites ;)

I'm thinking of reverse-engineering some papercraft templates to make printable goodies for some of my cuter sites.
