Thanx! I really appreciate the compliment! I do really enjoy designing.

Ha! You've mentioned that a few times to me - perhaps one day I shall progress to PS - but from that one tutorial session we had a couple months ago - I doubt it :P

Though I would certainly love to like the concept of designing with PhotoShop - It just seems to difficult and I haven't the patience for it at the moment ARG

On my Mac, I only use Photoshop CS4.

But when I used to use a PC, I used to love The GIMP and I mastered it quite well, too. I also used to love Microsoft Paint for small edits and such; I used this program more than anything. Paint.NET was nice, too.

So if you're in the category of "I hate Photoshop", may I ask why?

Honestly, is it because it's Adobe, or is it because you hate the program?

I admit, I'd like to use my mouse wheel to zoom, but I tolerate that part (Ctrl++ and Ctrl+-).

For vectors, I learned Illustrator in school (way back in 2001). I think Illy was version 8 at the time.

Fast forward to when my fiance moved to Minnesota...he uses CorelDRAW exclusively, and I was amazed at how quickly he could get things done.

I downloaded the trial of CorelDRAW X3 and I've never looked back.

Illustrator is just a bridge to other programs for me now (Vectors to Photoshop and AI files to a couple of plotter programs I use).

So, yeah, I use CS3 Web Premium, CorelDRAW, and Painter X for my work.

Oh, and sometimes I use 3ds MAX for personal things (I have an edu version of 3ds MAX 6 and have been working with MAX since 2.5).

I don't like photoshop because I am too uninterested in learning how to operate the program. The learning curve is too steep IMO - It lost it's appeal to me personally because it just seems too damn hard to create graphics in it. Anyway - that's my opinion. I wouldn't say I hate it - but I loath the difficulty - meh - probably same difference right? LOL

I'm in agreement with Jacquii. The learning curve is so steep, I just don't have time for it.

My older brother's boss, who's a friend of mine, ordered a few Adobe programs for me. They're free for him because they're going to a 'customer'. :) They are RTM.

What I asked for? Illustrator, Captivate, Fireworks, and Flash.

Otherwise, because my current versions are so old, I would be paying over 2,000 in software. o.O

I have a (legal) source for a (retail) version of CS4 Master Collection for about $1600.

When I have some extra cash I'm thinking of getting it. I hate Premiere, but I so desperately want Encore and After Effects Pro.

I can't justify asking for that. I'm still waiting on my stuff, but I should get it by Friday. I asked for Adobe Captivate mainly for presentations, so I wouldn't have to use PowerPoint anymore, and so I could build Desktop videos for How-To's for another site, that is completely unrelated to forums. It's for a hobby forum I've been part of for years.

My avatar is funny, but the board software ruined the animation. :(

I love captivate, I don't use it much because I don't know how to upload and embed it, but I would have made video tuts with it. :P

    Arigatogozaimas! :D

The avatar is TOO funny, when you uploaded it it overloaded the server with funnyness, that's why it doesn't work.
