What do YOU want to see on AA?

Well I kind of just thought of something etc~ I don't know if it goes well but, here's my idea.

Not a lot of people know about each others software etc.

For example, I knew about MyBB, and I knew about IPB's styling interface [also SMF's] but I didn't know vB's up till now nor do I know phpBB in depth.

I wonder if it would be possible to get a small over view of each forum and such so new forum owners can come and compare, like a forum matrix comparing each forum with prices and such, with the feature they have and their latest version, in which people could comment on them on their experience with each product. Just a shot in the dark D:

That's an excellent suggestion, FMB. Is this something that you guys would like to see and/or find useful?

 

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it would be useful to members, considering the fact that FMB is the second person to mention it in this thread.

That is a plan as well. We're just waiting for the financial backing in order to be able to do so (each demo (vB and IP.Board) will require its own license).

 

To get vB and IPB would require having to pay ._. reason why I left it out even when I thought about it ^^;;

 

I haven't read through the thread so sorry if this has been posted yet but I think you should have a closed section for new forum owners with all of the mods they would need to get their forum up and running.

For example the vbookie and miserable user mods.

You could have a seperate thread with each of the mods in it and a quick little overview of what the mod does and a link to where to get the mod. That way when someone starts up their own forum they already have a handy directory for all of the cool mods they might want or need and there's a little description to let them know what it does.

If that's something that the community would like to see, I'd have no problem purchasing the licenses for such a purpose - it'd be helpful, and would give members the opportunity to take both scripts "for a test run", so to speak.

 

It's only a one time thing anyway. It's not that big of a deal to get an extra vB and IPB license.

 

I really like the idea and if it's something you guys can afford and do I think it would be great for the forum.

There will be individual fresh copies of each script installed.

 

Nah, I think we are going to take the plunge (eventually ???) and purchase separate licenses for the sole purpose of demos.
