This is thread I've been looking for! IPB vs vB! where are all the exciting posts say one is terrible! This thread needs some trolls! :D

On a more serious note, I'm fairly new to the admin scene so I'll abstain from voting.

My moderating style exactly. Too much on topic it is not all that fun, and too much off topic and it gets a little old. Usually 80-90% of the time being on topic is a good balance for me.

I am surprised this thread didn't burst into 20+ pages right away. I think we need more on the IPB side for a good debate.

I was not aware of this feature. I'm going to have to look into this, using some different fonts could open up some interesting design possibilities. Can these fonts be used by members in their posts or just by the admin for the overall design?

I'm fairly confident that they can be used in posts in addition to the default font selection.

I once designed for a IPB board. I had access to their AdminCP. :| Let me tell you, I was HELLA confused in there.

Hmm, heck if I know! Pride of Nottingham (Forest Fan Site) was the site. I made buttons, banner, and fixed the header for them[code wise] I had a chance to browse around[I couldn't find what I was looking for]. =\ I was sort of confused.

The skinning interface can be a bit confusing, I can imagine.

I would have no idea how to edit the code in IP.Board.

IPB's skinning system definitely is not one of its strong suits. I remember skinning a 2.1 forum (I think) and that was a mess... You definitely have to know your way around CSS to figure it out.

Of course, my experience with skinning vBulletin isn't much better. With vB, however, it's not so much because of the method, but because there is so much to do to clean it up to my standards. :p

If I remember correctly, you did a fantastic job with the vBulletin skin you were designing for me - it was excellent. It's a shame that I lost it...

Users can post and you could use them to design, yep.

    vBulletin

I had experiences with both, and i could easily say that vBulletin was the better of the two. It is easier to work with and easy and quick to get it started up. Make a wise choice, it depends greatly on your content!

    Good luck!! :D
