vB5 is the worst forum software I've ever seen in my life. I'm telling this as a 6 year supporter of vBulletin. I can't believe it what I've seen.
A really, really black day for all who once loved this software so much...

I don't know when it's ever been suggested to upgrade to a beta product :)

I'll withhold judgement on the product until we see RC status but the state of the beta just confirms my suspicions that vB 5 and the teired roll out is just another money grab by IB like 4.0 was.

I still don't have the patience to dive into vB 4s template and CSS layouts -- vB 5 looks to be much worse. Say what you will but 3.x was a lot easier to understand and work with from a layout prospective.

That $25 discount just doesn't motivate me to buy a license way before it's production ready.

It's not, but to screw up the most basic thing ever is terrible. I mean, who wants have all their URLs change? I hear this isn't a beta only thing either.

Also, there's now a charge of nearly 200 dollars for ticket support after the first month. Have fun.

More, and more people reporting that they've been banned....

This is the worst product launch in a while. Banning most of your members via a glitch... I would say, a tragic PR nightmare as of right now.

I hear you have to refresh for a few moments and it will fix itself

A banning glitch that probably can be fixed with a software update fix(probably) for VB vs that mess that is going on XF that is not easily fixed :P
i wouldn't quite call that tragic PR nightmare for VB, Carlos :) haha

Awe. You're missing out on this "hate vB" bandwagon. Everyone's hating vBSI/iB right now at xenForo, admin sites, and possibly more. I mean for #@^&'s sake there's a lot of database errors right now. I dunno about you, but that's embarrassing for a product launch. And they still haven't learnt from the ForumCon server overload.

Yeah, that is rather embarrassing. Hopefully they'll do a major bug fix.
but yes every admin site i have been on is virtually panning vbulletin 5.

Looks more like Facebook to me...

I have been a vB lover for 4+ years now but they are starting to really ruin it.

I might have to look into IPB soon... not a fan of Xenforo

Look at that upgrade price! :wideyed: That is almost twice the price that I paid for the full version of vB 4.x

The thread and post ID's changing is a major flaw IMO :(

    It's BETA...

PS.. a large % of the alpha/beta team have been suggesting NOT to release it right now but you see how that worked out.

Yup, they need to fix that. Shawn posted how if they're doing that they need to use 301 redirects and not what they're currently using. It's crazy how they're not practicing good things - a lot of people's forums are indexed and a big change like this could hurt a lot of people really. They should have two options for the owners.
