if not, how to you access your database info?

you need to create a database, and a user, then join them with full privileges

 

Update: Yes I have got cpanel.

Have created a new database user. The database name stays the same.

 

It doesn't sound like you have the correct db info in the config file.

 

Am fixing it up now.

Configuration: includes/config.php exists, but is not in the 3.6+ format. Please convert your config file via the new config.php.new.

 

do you have the 3.8 version? I thought you were updating to 4? :p

 

That was in the 4.08 version... I reported that as a bug.

open up the config file, what version does it say? it should be 4.0.8
do you want to just send me the ftp info and I'll check it out

 

They put the wrong config.php.new file in there.
