It seems that quite a few claims made BY IB were dismissed .

Wow....sounds somehow very familiar to what a number of vB customers have been saying for some time. I personally see this as just another nail in the vB coffin.

@BirdOPrey5 - Joe, what are you trying to say? It isn't all that bad because only 1 out of 10 claims were rewarded? It still means IB was caught dealing unfaithfully and unfairly and they weren't living up to their word.

How does that make you feel as the employee of such a company?

I agree. I was somewhat amazed to see that the same types of problems were noticed so long ago and are still continuing today.

As someone who worked in the Liquor industry before I have to say it is an unfortunate fact of life today that ANY large successful business gets sued all the time. Everyone is looking for free money. Also- companies aren't perfect either- sometimes mistakes are made and lawsuits are warranted, they're not ALL frivolous so its hard to dismiss them without taking a serious look at each.

Of course I'd prefer mistakes were never made and there were no reasons to be sued.

Apples gets sued all the time, Microsoft does too... Google, Yahoo, Facebook- they all need giant legal departments to deal with a constant barrage of never ending lawsuits.

Getting sued is just a fact of life for large business these days.

Hehehe....Nice how you play it down Joe. You should be in politics.:P

Getting sued is one thing. Getting sued and being found guilty of dishonest activity and not keeping your word on an agreement and having to pay up to a million for that dishonesty is something else.

The verdict says in different terms that IB condones (or has condoned) unethical behavior within their own business, even if it is "just" rerouting traffic away from a competitor's site with false advertisement against an agreement that was made not to do so. Oh, wait, wait, wait..... Didn't we just have some discussion here about an untrue and very false statement made in a couple of vB marketing emails about the condition of vB5? Hmmmmm.......is there a correlation?

And I guess the come back to that is....

It is an unfortunate fact of life today that ANY large successful business runs their business unethically.

    Right....

Big Al, I appreciate you "thanking me" but these are things we've all known about for years. The XenForo care was finally settled earlier this year. There were giant threads on both vb.com and xf.com about them. The result was a "Secret" settlement- nether side is allowed to discuss the details of the settlement so no one knows for sure who "won." It's probably fair to say no one really won.

Something else of interest while we're at it.

Internet Brands' lost attempt to silent a new travel wiki.

"hmmm.......no factual basis". That sounds a lot like the XF lawsuit to me too.

In the Wikitravel/ Wikivoyage lawsuit, it looks like IB was trying to also bully 2 guys from doing what they love and it just happened those to guys had found a big brother in Wikimedia, who backed them financially to defend against IB and they actually counter sued IB and won both the defense AND the counter suit.
I guess IB is just getting SLAPPed all over the place themselves.:evillaugh:

Good news folks! Due to the problems with VB5, an elite team of technical support staff from VB.org led by BirdOPrey5 are working diligently on the problems.
Due to their unstinting efforts a solution is expected in a few years. When they hope to announce the Beta version.
