Me too. He'll probably pick out some misspelling and clarify how poorly misspelled it is.

The main point was and is clear, IB is still screwing up the vBulletin brand. That is something you should be defending and thus agreeing with Joe, yet you seem to be "on the other side of the fence" trying to throw the stones back at us. It just doesn't work Joe. Our stones are way to big, because the real overall truth, despite some small mishaps of communication or minute points of fact, is still the real overall truth. None of your comment dissection can change that overall truth either and your attempts make you look quite small.

That is a great list. The last sentence being the most important and saddest fact actually.

they'll go unnoticed by those who could actually make a difference

I'd venture to say, it is even worse. Those who can make a difference, if you would talk to them about this misere, will say it isn't all that bad and spew off a whole list of "good things", which probably sound great to a board of directors, but would leave customer jaws open wide in amazement. You know the total "WTF!" kind of amazement.

This list doesn't include the statement you made as FACT that was false and remains false. You just throw stuff to see what sticks. Throw enough and something sticks, eventually. How about you address the actual "fact" I disputed?

@BirdOPrey5 - don't you think at some point you're going to have to admit to yourself you are doing more harm than good (regardless of your intentions) to a product you love and your own reputation amongst those you are trying to influence? Wouldn't you be better off to just walk away from it all, go about your daily business, and forget the debating? It really doesn't produce anything positive, wouldn't you agree?

@John - No I don't because the people claiming I'm doing damage hate vBulletin and Internet Brands and are those with their agenda against it. They are mad at me for pointing out their lies and misrepresentations- of course they want me to walk away- they'd much prefer they keep posting lies and never have anyone call them out on it. Anyone looking at these threads objectively recognizes what I am doing and that for the most part the hater's are a lost cause- no point dancing around that fact.

Joe Joe Joe.. I can't tell if you're trolling or really want to carry on a conversation.
You'll note that my other post in this thread clearly say they are my opinion, you don't have to agree with them but don't try and twist my words to meet your agenda.
You asked for facts, I gave you some facts.
    Have a good day.

I don't know why Joe keeps insisting that everybody else is wrong and he's right. And here to prove so?

We're not spreading lies, Joe. We truly believe that vBulletin 5/vBulletin Cloud are a complete and utter failure and the fact that the majority of the results from the Bing search I just did using YOUR search terms brings up more vB 4.x sites and only a few cloud sites further proves our point.

    Here-
The first half of that isn't an opinion- it is a false statement of fact. You are welcome to your opinion in the second half of the post but adding an opinion after a false statement doesn't make the statement any less false.

The Bing results were never intended to show there were a lot of VB5/VBCloud sites- only to show there were more than the couple someone mentioned earlier- the burden of "proof" was extremely low. Had someone said that there's less than a hundred vBCloud sites indexed by search engines I wouldn't have argued with them. But when they say there are less than 2 vBCloud sites indexed by search engines you bet I am going to call out that false statement.

Stop making false statements and I'll have nothing to argue about.

Fair enough. Just seems to me this is like some of those other topics people debate endlessly online, such as evolution vs. creationism - no one's beliefs or opinions are ever really changed by those debates, and they all usually just end up disliking each other more than when they started. Best of luck to you all...I'm off to do something that makes me happy. ;)

I'm sure this guy is a Mark B wanna be. He has turned a perfectly sound discussion into a spot light on him (again). No sound rational points of view, just a swirling of cloud mist to fog the issue with unintelligible verbal diarrhea.

I think it is Joe's intention to frustrate us to no end, until we actually give up.

As an IB employee, do you really expect him to just shout "I know its garbage" ?

Nope. But I would expect he be more sympathetic and definitely more humble about the crappy situation his employer has created around the vBulletin brand. What we are pointing out is the ugly truth and all he does is accuse several people here of posting lies, yet he only picks out some small detail, which isn't quite perfectly truthful and definitely has absolutely no real importance to the overall subject and thus derails the thread in the name of "fighting for the truth". I call that just another form of trolling. If he hadn't posted in this thread at all, it probably would have ended about 5 pages ago.

And I agree with John. Joe is definitely doing more harm to vBulletin than good, simply because his dogooder fight for pissant truth is constantly perpetuating threads like this one, where again the poor story about vBulletin's demise gets told once more. Brandon did a fine job doing just that, yet Joe continues on with his quibbling.

You can't fix stupid guys. If everyone just put him on their ignore list he'd leave. He already stated that he likes the official title that comes with his job there. He gets his rocks off on this shit.

What will it matter for customers Joe ?

It took couple years for vBulletin 4 to reach to a usable state and when that happened vBulletin 5 is released.

If vBulletin 5 will ever reach to a usable state at that second vBulletin 6 would be released hich will make vBulletin 5 an old product facing to death.

So in any senario the loosing side will be customers.
