I'm waiting to see what IB's Keir has up his sleeve and whether Xenforo's Kier can play his 'Mike' card at the right time to upset the whole apple cart

Or here's another game for ya folks ! Someone could be using Mike's account to make those posts just to make sure "right eyes got the message" He is still around and stop spreading FUD LoL .

This does make what I said before though, now look more like happening. A 12th June release! Mike coming on the forums today marking bugs up after remaining absence for so long, it could be a sign they are getting ready to start packaging XF 1.2 up soon for release, and are just polishing off any bugs in it reported over from previous version?

But which ever way it pans out, I do think we'll see XF 1.2 arrive in June now. Be it the 12th, later or before it. All that remains now, what will it offer in comparison to vB5?

 

Whatever it is and will be is ok for me ! My board is not going anywhere until the last option We are doing pretty good increasing everyday . So i guess until it's end of day trying to run it with xenforo let's see if it's going downhill i already picked my another option .

Hopefully they will update it on time oh well they don't have much option either with all these clients dropping down from xenforo to other solutions will seriously put them on budget issues as well with ongoing court case .....also let's not forget all these negativity going around does puts big pressure load to go ahead for another update.

 

Brilliant to see Mike back online and active again.

We only need Kier to do the same and things will be back to normal.

I bet if Mike doesnt post for another week or two then you will say 7th June was the last day of his contract so he came online to show he was doing some work and then left forever!

Did you know Kier hasn't been online since Monday? I think he's left XenForo.

 

Yes it's a very intelligent discussion. Full of reasoned arguments and balanced views. Especially when the primary participants happily admit to their dislike of Kier Darby but refuse to say why. I mean where else could we find such unbiased and erudite musings!

On XenForo about vBulletin, you'll find plenty unbiased and erudite musings there. You don't have to look that far you know.

 

I don't dislike Kier and never have. Quite the contrary.

 

I do love this modern trend whereby anyone who dares to post a conflicting opinion is branded a "troll".

These people need to look up the meaning of the word. But even then they wouldn't understand it. Because what you have is people who cannot grasp the idea that anyone could have a different opinion to themselves and consider anyone who does to be a troublemaker.

This in itself is not unusual in forums, I see it on my site all the time. However what's worrying here is that these people are all fellow forum admins! Remind me never to join any of their forums if that is the way they think.

Most of them also would never come here to defend their views, because they cannot have conflicting opinions censored like they can on XenForo's site now. A truly sad state of affairs.

These same people mostly used to do the same thing on vBulletin. so the only thing I hold against XenForo regarding this, is why on Earth they censor according to these people's personal viewpoints.

 

I prefer to know what it will offer as XenForo, rather than as a direct comparison to vB5 or anything else. It isn't good for forum software to all just copy each other.

Fanboi is a perfectly legitimate term. They could call us "naysayers" or something, because arguably that's what we are.

"Troll" though is completely the wrong word and only proves they don't know the meaning of the word.

 

You don't get to choose what you get called, I doubt Fanbois want to be called Fanbois any more than trolls whant to be called trolls. You get labelled based on your actions but if you want to get into semantics then let's get into semantics.

I'm surprised you cant see how perfectly this fits the behaviour you are indulging in.

What you do is post deliberatively provocative speculation about XenForo specifically. We both know this serves to create disruption and confusion and you revel in it while it lasts. Every time you're shown to be wrong you just move the goalposts and continue your attack from an altered trajectory.

I'd say troll is a perfect fit and perhaps you're the one who hasn't fully understood what a troll is or does.
