I am sure the fanboys will be claiming this is deliberate and a brand new site will be launched running 1.2 when it comes back up, and that it's only offline to prevent vBulletin seeing it

MyBB certainly would not agree with any assessment that Namecheap are OK, as they point the finger at them in their blog:

    http://blog.mybb.com/2012/06/02/well-be-back-soon/

XenForo is still offline for me, with no holding page. Assuming this is all just a "clerical error" it will be comical reading the excuses from the fanbois about how it was deliberate and intentional, and we should not worry a company cannot renew its own domain name. Maybe even Kier himself will post about it, so the faithful can rush out and buy more licences in appreciation? :)

Hmm, could be browser cache maybe? I've tried accessing XenForo using two proxy sites "Proxify and HideMyAss" and cannot. But if I go their normal not using proxy I see the site, but the banned page of course for me. But that could be cache still present in FireFox (terrible FireFox for doing it), and the proxy is showing the site is really down. Not sure?

Just tried Chrome and Opera instead, the site is definitely there for me.

Password was hacked, too weak a one used (and they are still with NameCheap by the way). That can happen to anyone, I very recently had my own Hotmail hacked for using too weak password and had to change it with MS, does that mean Hotmail are crap? Things like that happen, usually through your own fault or hackers getting lucky!

Well I accessed it for the first time today 20 minutes ago via mobile phone (cell phone if you're American!) and it wasn't up and still isn't.

That's very odd? Because I've used FireFox, Opera and Chrome and tried hard-refreshing page and still it shows for me. FireFox can be a real pain with cache though, you have to empty everything in it, including all your "browsing History", not just all cookies e.t.c. But Opera is usually fine at updating cache on a hard-refresh.

The XenForo site never went 'down'... it's just a DNS issue because of the expired domain. It soured alot of the DNS records and it will take awhile to update.

Refer to my post above for forcing a resolution via your hosts file if you want to see the XF site. (until your local DNS servers have updated) I'm using Goolge's DNS and they haven't gotten the update yet.

Whatever the reasons, this will do them no good at all. Given recent events, few will believe what Ashley has said.

True. It's just going to be a wait and see kind of thing, of what the future holds.

    Let's see what's behind curtain #2 after 6/12...

Google's DNS just picked up the update, I can access XF without the hosts file modification now.

True, think people are starting to pretty much doubt everything coming out their mouths now. Same old :poop:

Don't buy that one either, unless they had no funds there to cover it? And that's their fault not NameCheaps! And it still doesn't take away the fact they've manually renewed the domain then for 1 year only.

    I just get this now:

    The connection was reset

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

Me too. In Firefox with browser cleared or in another browser.

DNS stuff really can take up to 24 hours to settle though.

You're not missing much at this stage. People are starting to trickle back in, slowly. Jake, Slavik and Lawrence made it back.

The only thing of interest today, so far, was this from PACER:

    Kind of dry...

I've been getting problem accessing vB ever since they updated to vB 4.2. There's been a few times I get shown database error page. Was getting it yesterday for a short time there.

So does that mean things are going to finally get settled one way or another in December, 2012?

+Appeals, if any - depending on which way it goes.

Still, six months of waiting and watching.
