rrrrrright...

no, i think i'll settle for Brown.

alien> how about that version 4? any suggestions? i'm going to make this thing work if it kills me, which it might. i know for sure that there's a way to do it now, because i have a friend who did it. he doesn't *remember* how he did it, but with a little... ah, coersion, he might warm up. .

<edit>
whoa nevermind i figured it out almost completely. give me a day or so and i'll have a simple sample up.

question: can you automate the creation and update of a text file with a user's info? that would eliminate the need for 6 body onloads per animation times 15 max per page

Heya,

That's looking really nice!

What kind of load time do you think we'd be looking at? 6x15 doesn't sound too good? I don't think I'll be able to automate it (at least not without help).

Hmm.

i mean in the <body> tag there's the onload statement. you'd need to say <body onload="document.flashname.varname='whatever'&document.flashname.var2name='whatever2'" etc, three or four for each flash animation, times 15 if the page has a lot of posts. but it's not that big a deal, maybe a few seconds load time - just ascii html text. it just might be easier to define a text file for each user with his/her data, if you could figure that out

anyway, i'm still trying to figure out the exact syntax for the above method, but once i find it, it should be workable.
