Seems much better with the new icons feature too, shame how long it takes for the smileys and links to parse though.

I love the new version and my members do too. There's about a 2-second delay in the smileys and links to parse, but it's not terrible :D

Nick, I see that you haven't upgraded yet. Any particular reason?

    Will do soon though!

Oh, okay...I was afraid that you spotted something that wasn't working with it or something :)

By the way, you can change the "Comet Chat Options" verbiage in the 'settings' window (all the way to the right) within the cometchat.js file (line 16) to whatever you'd like it to be :D

hmmm - IDK about this ==> still considering
I rather like the idea of a public chatroom like Flashchat and/or a shoutbox, something that is all-inclusive rather than an advanced PM system...

Jacquii, I have both. I have the Flashchat and it serves it's intended purpose. But, with just wanting to chat one on one, it's great to have this as an option. :)

The nice thing about this type of chat is that the users are still on the forum pages, browsing and posting.

I turned it back on here. I can now see the usefulness, after all my bitching. Sorry Nick.
I'd love to purchase it for RHM, but dang, $49? That's a bit more than I can afford. :(

LOL No need to apologize, Peggy! Not all of us are interested in the same things, add-ons included. :D

The price is steep indeed. Maybe we can throw it into our next contest. ;)

How does it compare with the free LiveZilla which also has good reviews?

Never used (or even heard) of LiveZilla, so can't compare.

    Does LiveZilla integrate with vBulletin?

Nick, the 1.2 version of CometChat should be coming out in the coming days. I noticed you hadn't upgraded to 1.1 yet, so I just wanted to let you know :)

Thanks, Arny! I obviously haven't been keeping up with it all. :o

Is there a list of what is to be included in this update? I hope it fixes some of the major concerns like usergroup permissions, a real user option to enable disable, etc.

Thanks! It looks like it is supposed to be more of a customer support tool than a user-to-user chat medium.

Here are the upgrades/improvements in version 1.1: Comet Chat 1.1 Features List

Here's the list of upgrades/improvements to be added in version 1.2: Comet Chat 1.2 Features List

Version 1.1 was a great improvement on 1.0, so hopefully 1.2 makes the feature even better! :D

My palms get sweaty and I start shaking with the desire I have to add this to our site.

Does it take a lot of server resources?
