Nick (or anyone else), have you suggested or found out about having usergroups show as different color text for their username or something similar? I'd want my moderators and admins to show as a different color so that folks know who to ask or who to go to if they need help.

My thoughts is that instead of adding content members would seek each other out and chat about issues they would normally post about. I'd much rather them post threads than chat.

 

I'll tell you, this mod is really proving invaluable to me because I'm getting feedback and suggestions that I never get to speak with. There were some that I chatted with and they usually only lurk, so it's already helped my community

Now, once we get a few extra things done with it (smileys/links/notification/etc) it'll be nearly perfect

 

Okay! I installed it on my site and my slowed down terribly + it isn't working, I get logged out all the time!

 

Logged out? Wow, none of my members are reporting any issues with it and I use it here on AA as well as the demo site and it seems to be fine overall.

I'm gonna eat some breakfast, but I think that I noticed version 1.01 is out of the CometChat

 

I am impressed with it, something we will add to our list of mods soon

 

I just checked this morning by logging into the member's area and version 1.0.1 is available for download

Anant mentioned that this version included a few minor bugs. The next version will include new features like sound/titlebar alert, admin control panel etc.

 

Sounds awesome is there free upgrades for a year with this? What is the upgrade policy

 

I know that Anant had the lifetime license deal going, not sure if it's still going. But, I have free upgrades forever

 

I have just checked lets hope they have this when we buy a licence

 

New version will be out by tomorrow. On the cometchat.com site the new version is already listed. Lots of new features added!

Thanks for the update, Arny - it looks great!

 

I'm using the new version on his site and it's a very nice improvement on an already great mod!

 

It is I am impressed with how far the mod has come and am looking forward to these additions don't be suprised if I am on here requesting some graphics done for the website to be added on there. would hopefully encourage people to go to sections of my site they have never been to lol.

 

I'm now using 1.1 and it's working great! Adds some nice touches (sound notification on incoming message, smileys, links and how many folks are online within parenthesis) and some new features (links in the bar all the way to the left that you can add or change).

All in all, a very good mod

 

I'm glad to hear that they (finally) added in an emoticon set.
