MyBB Vs. phpBB Vs. SMF (Free Software)

I agree with you, but there has always been a big choice of forum software to choose from. phpbb, mybb, smf, vb have all been around. Just xenforo is new.

 

MyBB has my vote. It has so many features and is very easy to customize. I've never been a big fan of the other two.

 

Hi all, phpBB has a profissional look, easier to install, and i think that it is the best forum software that we can ever use. My vote goes to phpBB.

 

Its not the best forum software ever, we both would be lying if we said that.

 

MyBB all the way. phpBB3's ACP is a mess imo, it's redundant and confusing. For example, I see so many forums where admins can't figure out the groups and make all their staff admins, which can be a really bad decision.
SMF, well, the ACP is ok, but I just don't like it. It doesn't measure up to even phpBB imo.

 

Yea I am not to fond of the phpBB ACP, it was very confusing when it was my first time on phpBB, and that was a long time ago.

 

I am a really large fan of MyBB and have been for quite some time. I believe it's a very nice and small forum software that is fairly secure and has a very nice balance of features as well as being able to customize it via plugins easily.

After MyBB I believe SMF to be a very good forum software that has a lot of potential and can go really far. I have been tempted to use SMF for a fairly long time but just am unable to get comfortable with it.

 

MyBB is truly great, its my favorite Free Software. Its very much stable easy to customize. I would be using it on a second forum if I had one. Its worth it.

why do you say that? Can you elaborate a bit further with your reasoning's please?

 

I voted for MyBB. Simply because it is so easy to use and is the most popular.

 

Yea, its very user friendly. I have never had any problem with it. I love MyBB, and if I ever do open a second forum I'll use MyBB on it.
