Arny I'm sorry darlin, but I don't like your forum at 900 width. With the multitude of various images and graphics you have on there, it looks way too 'busy' and crowded.
Someone with adhd (me) wouldn't be able to stay on the forum for very long. :(

That's alright Peggy, that's what I want. I want true feedback.

So, are you referring to the forum home primarily or the threads as well?

Looks very nice but I do have to bring up that the "Mouse Ear" is a registered trademark and can actually only be used with written permission from Disney's legal division. Disney would have to protect their trademark so that it doesn't get diluted and made worthless. They pay lawyers millions of dollars a year just for this purpose. That is how valuable the trademark is.

While I could see it as appropriate for a fan site, it could cause legal problems down the road. Especially if you try to monetize the site with advertising. I will also note that Oregon University is the home of the Ducks, "The Mighty Ducks" mind you. They were the Ducks before the movie came out and became a Disney trademark. Disney sued them and won on a technicality. The university was selling Donald Duck dolls in the bookstore and that meant they were profiting off of Disney's trademarks. Now the University pays a yearly royalty to keep their team name.

    Hi there!

Stopped by your forum to see the progress and it looks really cool. Very interesting and a HECK of a lot of great information. I wish I would have checked it out before I went there!

I saw that you have a Twitter feed and a Facebook Fan section. Are those hacks that you installed? Could you give me a heads up on where you found them or how you created them? :idk:

Also, I love the layout that FMB was putting together! Are you planning to move forward?

Finally - I don't know where I picked this up at - but do you have a virtual pin swap on your forum? I thought I saw that at some point, but couldn't find it.

    Great job!

Nope! I don't want to get sued, I finished the layout, though.

Thanks for the nice words about the site! :D

The Twitter feed and the Facebook Fan section are not hacks, those are pulled from Twitter and Facebook directly. Twitter has a search feature and I did the background colors and such as the board colors to make it seem 'customized' :)

I'll see if I can find the links for each later.

For the 'virtual pin swap' (we call them WDBling), you can find the WDBling shop here: WDBling Shop and you can look at any thread for the display just above the signature field where everyone displays their WDBling.

Example Thread: Fantasyland Overhaul - TONS of changes!

I've got my new site that I'm in the middle of developing here: Disney's Magic Kingdom Forums that we're finishing up the graphics/logos and such. Then, we'll be able to start to promote it. :D

I have a feeling that they would sue Arny for using the background and not FMB. I have noticed that there are a fair amount of Disney icons on the WDB site already including the use of the "Mickey ears."

I found the Twitter search widget. Thanks for the heads up!! I'll take a look for the Facebook one as soon as I have that page up and running. I'm not technically savy, so could you provide me with a little tutorial on how to upload this to my site? If you have time... :D

You know I saw those and didn't put two and two together!! That looks like a great addition! Do the users switch these files back and forth or do they just get them after making a donation? Can they get them other ways?

    THANKS!!

The homepage and forum are both being redesigned and rebranded as WDBoards.com since folks know about our site already. Not that I've been approached by Disney or anything, but just avoiding issues 'just in case' :)

If you have a sidebar, you simply add the code as another 'section' to it, but if not, then you want to go and get a sidebar mod to add to your forum first. Then, we can help you along a little better. :D

Right now the members "buy" the WDBling with their WDBucks. They earn WDBucks by posting, referring members, starting threads, etc....then, they go to the WDBling shop and "buy" their WDBling. From there, they can "gift" (which will be referred to as "trade" on the site) each other WDBling if they see fit. First, they'd agree to a "trade" via a thread or PM and then they would take care of it themselves from there. :)

Thanks again Arny! I will move forward on that side bar mod.

I am just amazed at how cool the WDBling is. Great job!
