Global Gold - www.globalgold.co.uk - They are UK based hosts, very good and specialise in VB and xenforo works perfectly on their servers as well

 

Which free hosting company would you recomend?

 

To be honest none, free ones are never good, but if you dont have a choice I would say byethost.

 

Awesome! Thank you for the list, I've always been looking for more hosting sites. I'm currently using webs.com for my website. I like them, just not many options with our members, but we can do a lot with add-ons. I'll be looking into some you've listed.

edit: Is there are free forums that allows us to add prefix/icon images?
ex: [MOD] UsernameHere

I meant a free site that allows us to add icon images before the names. I know that SMF allows us too but not sure if there is a free way, hmm. It's something the old playstation.com forums did and I loved it. Oh well!

i am using byethost since 8 months for my small community,but now just a few days ago,they droped down the smtp and curl extensions,so i am facing hard trouble in managing forum,as users are not getting activated emails.....now planning to move to another host,at present a free host rather,as i cannot afford to a paid host all by myself.and at present i am in my career building path,as a budding doctor,so i cant dedicate more time for site,so plzz recommend a good free host with email function,and nothig more needed

 

one phrase: you get what you pay for, I know of no free host that will offer a decent service because they all will lack in one thing or another, be it forced ads, email restrictions or backups, etc.

 

Add hostmist.com to the list. Shouldn't WebHostingTalk be put as a Hosting Resource site or something?
