Okay, thanks, John. I feel like a fool now. She did a nice work at management, but they need to hire a real designer, like you or Shelley to do the graphic work. Do you know what grid system the blog is following?

    The artsy shit is ugly

the newspaper industry knows what it's doing not trying to get too fancy with the shit (not to mention it'd up their costs more in comparison)

"ugly sites" generally perform better and deliver higher earnings in my history.. not ugly as in oh my god I can't look at this.. but the googles, plenty of fishes, craigslists, etc

There's really no point in a beta team, or alpha team for that matter then. I personally feel that the employees add what they think they like, not what they know what looks and conveys best.

When it comes to design and a efficient structure they fail badly. I notice the post icons are now residing on the category title in the forum display which clutters the page badly when you have the newpost icon and prefix as well as the sticky icons showing when it should have originally stayed by the lastpost data. (Screenshot below) .

Actually the posticon never ever resided by the lastpost data area but theres an idea right there or have it beside the threadmarkers where it was originally placed.

Why nobody on the team mentioned this (I'm assuming nobody mentioned this) is beyond me. My point being is when the tiny badly implementations placements add up it throws everything off.

I'm always right and so are hundreds of others who would have perseveered into getting appropriate changes met and the right choices appiled when we wrote down that draft and pointed out because you work at vbulletin solutions doesn't mean you know the right choices choices to implmenet.

We can draw up a conclusion that the closed beta was a way of maintaining a controlled enviroment, a way of keep the majority in check if they did kick up and put forth those valid suggestions, concerns etc and so forth.

Not to ramble on to much, but if the beta team have given up are we to rely on those who are struggling and adopting the method of you'll get what we give lol

You can only ride the gravy train for so long. And like john (smacklan said) a nice person sophie may be but a designer she is not is a concern in itsself coming from one of the most established, respect styling provider on the internet. Let's hope the sun goes supernova before gold. :D

It's been mentioned, more than once, by myself, John, and others.

Don't tell me, they said you were all mad and that it looks better cluttering everything on the left hand side of the forum display?

You were crazy for even question there new inovative cluttering technique?

What about the 20 stories that each threadmarker are taking up on the forum display?

Maybe they all have a certain acute form of "boggle eye syndrome" that impairs their judgement. who knows.:D

Yes you can. At the end of the day, they make the decisions, no matter how much noise "we" may make.

Nonsense of course. The "team" as you call it have made their views quite plain on all matters, sometimes we get listened to, sometimes not, but just to repeat, in case you missed the obvious - IB make the decisions, no matter what we say.

Why paul, are you now feeling a little under appreciated and your input not being welcomed :D funny how the tide turns? Nothing is nonsense untill the fat lady sings and last time i checked she never even started.

Of course the final say is by IB but when you are making awful decisions when you had an array of talent to call back from then it's only a recipe for disaster. Why I would tell you is beyond me because I see you as bad as them when it comes to making decisions or doing anything productive. :)

These are the kinds of unproductive and crude comments that cause people to grimace in disgust when visiting AA. Can we try to be productive next time?

Since this was a rather productive thread until the last few inappropriate posts, I've decided to remove those posts and re-open the thread. Let's keep the productivity going. :)

I don't care about the default design of vB4, as long as I can easily change it.

I'd like to say I'm surprised to hear they take the feedback from their beta testers with a grain of sale, but that appears to be the new company mantra. Man, I upgraded 6 licenses as a measure of goodwill towards what vBulletin has done for me. Every passing day it looks like I made a foolish choice.

I really need to get my hands on an IPB license.

Yes, tell me about it. I ended up closing down forums and selling two licenses and I still have one more non-upgraded license.
