IPS to sue Adam Howard?

Ok so first of all keep in mind that this happened a looooong time ago. Like over a year I'd say. This was back when IPS (please call them IPS, not IPB, IPB is their software's name) had a pretty anal hands off policy regarding piracy and the like and they didn't really like to get involved with people's dispute. However, one person whose name I've completely forgotten who I was chatting with at the time (aim, skype, PMs, I seriously don't remember) put together a ton of evidence against Adam and presented it to Lindy which essentially forced IPS to take action and they revoked his license and stuff.

As you can see my memory regarding the whole event is quite foggy. It really was quite a while ago.

I just want to point out though that these days if you present IPS with evidence that someone has pirated your skin or mod then they will ban that person from the marketplace.

 

Those are pretty vague and unfounded accusations coming from someone operating a newly created account. Its obvious that you are playing games and I am not buying.

Are you offended enough to provide proof to backup your claims?

Look, if you are going to accuse someone of a crime, then it looks quite off if you make such serious accusations based upon the statements of a person of which you do not remember the name nor the circumstances while not providing any proof. If you then make these accusations from a newly created account then that does not look trustworthy.

Adam even made a thread about it and sat in the chatroom in denial of everything with an old alt account he had access to.

I must be playing games too.

 

He hosted with us for a bit too.. Tried to charge back the 3 months of service after he left, but we won the dispute. Funny how he claims not to have a Paypal account all over xenForo's site, yet that's how he made payments to us. Some of his support tickets were just LOLz.. There was one he wanted to set some sort of bottomless trap doing a symlink to 20 different folders looping back to the 1st folder.

 

We could ask @TheVisitors to explain, that's "Adam Howard" isn't it?

 

Wait, that's his account? Well, I guess that explains why he made a super negative review of IPB over at The Admin Zone, which ended up being more of a 'bash the hell out the software and company' type of thing.

So how believable is the story told in this thread then?

 

Is it just me or is this Adam guy making a fool of himself all over the place IPB, Xenforo and Webhostingtalk. If they take action I don't blame them. My personal opinion is he's a bit cocky.

 

I have never had a problem with Adam. I'm not sure what all the fuss is about. But then I usually just worry about my own shit.

IPB would have to prove financial losses as a result of the alleged actions of Adam Howard.
I fail to see how expressing an opinion on a web forum qualifies as financially damaging.
Even if the alleged theft of data occurred that's an issue between the licensee and Adam Howard.
IPB has no claim against anyone for damages incurred by one of its customers.
Based upon the information contained within this thread there is no case.
Is there something more to this?

 

There is something called libel if he does this they can ask for ruling and ask penalty for doing so.
