Fluid or Fixed Width

I'm all for constrained fluid, but my heart goes to fixed widths of around 980px to 1200px.

 

I do too. Nice muted colors, not too busy. That I can handle.

 

Yes, the diagonal lines are not too bad as long as they are muted as Peggy stated. I'm leaning more and more towards fixed width though.
