I love'm both. I think it depends on the content for what your building. Wordpress has always been a blogging machine while cmsms is more a management system. Though it does have a FEU to allow members only content.

    Two reasons:

1 - For vBulletin integration. I ended up deciding though that since I couldn't get it to work on AA, it wouldn't work on the site I wanted it for (my Linnie Forum).

2 - I was originally going to add a static website to the root of my lineolated parakeet website. It was going to be general info about linnies, caring for them, facts, etc... but then I decided I'd like to use a blog to replace our monthly newsletter. A blog allows for frequent updating and interaction with the community (posts, polls, comments, etc.).

So I ultimately ended up ditching the vB/WP integration, and choosing to use WP instead of a static CMS. :)

I'm looking to do more of an "info site" with facts, numbers, pictures, videos, etc. So, I think that I'd be fine with CMSMS. :)

I'm going to keep playing with the demo and then do a test install next week. :D

I use it for my personal site. So it's not all decked out all snazy and stuff. But I've learned how to work with the modules and such that I've described in this thread.

It's quite powerful, but really takes time to get going. So not sure what kind of timeframe you have or your php background, but it is quite powerful.
