You need to build up your network. Follow gun advocates on the service. In turn a lot of them will follow you. Instead of posting a play-by-play of Tora Tora Tora ;), post links to new discussions on your site and links to articles for or against your position on Gun Rights. These will be retweeted by the people who follow you and you'll get more followers out of it. Continue doing so and you'll get a good network over time which will promote your site for you.

Your tweets will also show up in searches if you use the keywords you want to promote. At this time, a lot of people who are on Twitter trust Twitter searches more than they trust Google searches. This is regardless of whether or not the search is returning valid information.

Is there a way to get twitter posts to show up on Facebook? Like I saw that your recent twitter post, Wayne, is also on your facebook page. How'd you do that?

Sign up and use Twitter on Facebook | Facebook

I use Facebook as a conglomerate site and feed everything into it. I have my Pandora Radio, Twitter and Hulu tied into it. Hulu is broken through it seems. Have to tie Flickr, Vimeo and Youtube into it as well once I find the apps for them.

No worries.. follow me and you'll get random song lyric snippets from time to time. Nothing says you can't have fun as well. I spend the day with my speakers cranked up and listening to Pandora Radio. Even cancelled my Napster To Go account because I can stream Pandora to my cellphone.

ok I've used both Tweetdeck and Seesmic Desktop for twittering, and both slowed my computer down, for whatever reason.

I saw that Kier was using TwitterFox, so, since Firefox is my default browser, and it's a FF add-on, I checked it out. SO easy to use, doesn't take up alot of desktop space, just sits on the status bar at the bottom of the browser and pops up a little box when you have a tweet or reply, etc. You can either reply on the little box, or maximize it.

    Love it!

    Using Windows Vista?

Adobe Air has some problems on Vista and XP which slow down the computer. At least in my experience. Seems to work better under a a 64-bit OS and a CPU that has virtualization turned on. I don't experience any problems using Windows 7 RC. Well if my computer goes to sleep, when I wake it up and get a 1000 or so tweets it slows down.

I immediately went from about 400-500 visitors per day up to 600-800 visitors per day when I started using TwitterFeed/Ping.fm/Twitter/FaceBook to get my messages out.

Plus, my average Google clicks went from $1.00-2.00 up to as high as $11.00-13.00 per day! :D

Definitely worth the time to set things up correctly and make sure that your forums stay active with new threads to "feed" the social networking machine

I can't get my twitter feeds to work, for whatever reason. I set up TbD, vBFAQ, and my blog, and neither have shown up even tho all three sites have been posted to.

Peggy, I replied to your tweet earlier but you didn't respond. I asked if the feeds were new; did you recently set it up?

If so, it has to be initiated which is a process that takes a few hours. When you login to your Twitterfeed account, you will see a little flag icon next to your feeds - if the flag isn't green, the feed is still pending.

I set them up yesterday. I'll have to go look at that flag.
