But if you can't understand it, you'll keep it the same, too?

Yes, absolutely - it's not my place to go around modifying posts just because I can't understand them and/or don't like the way in which they were worded or phrased. I may suggest that they change it, but I won't do it myself.

    Interesting.

I would take the extra step and edit it myself. Who's to say the member at hands won't return the following day and then you have all these members quoting the message saying "What," "Huh," "I beg your pardon," etc.

That's his/her problem - not yours. Going out of your way to edit a member's post simply because you don't care for the spelling and/or grammar is taking it a bit too far.

This is, of course, my take on such a situation. Everyone is different.

    Of course.

But you do understand my point, right?

I hate spam messages like "What," "Huh," etc.

I mean, it really is a space waster.

I would never do that. What if you are totally wrong in your assumption about what they mean? I have seen several weird posts on vb.org and made an assumption about what they really wanted only to find out I was totally wrong. I think it would be better for them to clarify it themself. Then, if you don't like all the "what" and "huh" posts, you can remove them later.

    Very true, Lynne.

I guess I have learned another lesson, or, heard it again from another person; never mak assumptions.

Regardless of your lack of understanding of the member's intentions, it's just rude and inappropriate to follow their posts and make grammatical and spelling edits. If somebody continually did that to my posts on a forum, I suspect I wouldn't visit or post very much anymore.
