All of my domains (except one) are hosted with GoDaddy. I never use their administrative interface except when I first set up the domain and if I ever move the site to a different server and have the need to update the nameservers.

Which is why I don't mind the back-end -- If I hardly use it, it shouldn't be the biggest swaying-factor of my decision.

That's true. I've just found it to be annoying, particularly when you are dealing with configuring both custom nameservers and mail servers.

If all you care about is control and ease of administration, look no further than Namecheap. You won't need to read any guides or help articles at all to find your way around...it's incredibly easy to use.
IMHO, Yahoo is bad choice if the control panel (and even price) is your main concern. It's filled with a bunch of links scattered across the page and the DNS takes forever to update...
Also, Yahoo occasionally offer $2.95 deals on domains, but then give you a $35 renewal fee. But it's easy to transfer your domains from Yahoo, so whenever those deals come up I take it.

I am using Namecheap and there support are very good and there site is also very easy to use. So I would go for Namecheap without hesitation.

Bandit, what are your thoughts on GoDaddy's visual interface? I'm a GoDaddy member myself and while I do love their service, their control panel is wearing on me.

It is a little 'Intimidating'. I still don't know what half the options are for.

That's something that can most definitely be improved upon. Many of the options are also repetitive.

I tried GoDaddy but moved pretty quick since I did not like the control panel and I liked Namecheap much more.

I'm still hooked on GoDaddy - I just can't get away from it.

I can not say they are the "best", but I like namecheap. I have been using namecheap for about 3 years, and have had no problems. I also like the security features they have in pace just in case someone tries to guess your password.

The coupon code is still viable regardless of whether or not you attend school. :)

    This!

P.S. My GoDaddy account was once hacked and my sites' indexes were all changed. It took four phone calls to GoDaddy to get it back. :D
