I'm also subscribing to the "100 sites that make $1 each a day" school of thought, but it's taking me considerably longer then a year :( How many are you up to, Arny?

Michelle, I'm actually having my fifth one up shortly and then after a redesign of WDBoards.com (new WP homepage and redesign of forums), then we are going to be working on a few templates (with different layouts and color schemes) which will account for a good 60 to 70 sites. That'll be the big chunk of the work and I hope to have those up by September/October or so.

60 to 70 sites, wow! Will they be blogs, forums, directories, etc.? You're going to need some way of generating all that content.

Well, I'm planning on hiring folks for article writing. They will mainly be blogs with bbPress forums.

I will have a large portion of the sites be a part of the WDB Network of sites. :)

You're going to need a whole lot of articles. What topics are you planning to cover?

Most (if not all) will be Disney related. So, I'll probably hire some of the WDB members who have expressed interest in writing articles in the past and offer them cash per article written.

This would be fun for them and potentially a nice way to earn some extra income writing about a topic that they love. :)

I'm going to install a plugin for bbPress which allows for blog posts on WP to create a topic/thread automatically.

This should also get some discussions going on the forums as well as comments on the blog posts themselves.

Harnessing the power of your users, neat :) Are you using revenue sharing or paying them a flat rate?

I'll be paying them flat rates. Makes it a lot easier to manage. I just simply have to ensure that they understand the articles have to be a certain length and be 'approved' by me before they will earn payment :)

Other than a few small tweaks, my new Wordpress / bbPress site is completed. Now, all I have to do is add my SEO tools and sitemap 'stuff'. Then, I have to start adding lots of informational posts and articles to get some content generated.

...and she's launched, I'm now officially running a BBPress forum on Sex is Normal, with full BBPress <-> WordPress synchronization. A new WordPress post automatically makes a BBPress topic, comments are synched, etc. : )

Let me know when you post a list of topics you're looking for articles on, Arny; I'll see what I can do.

If I settle with the Wordpress CMS, I will use BBPress. It'd be ideal to have everything all from the same company, this way, everything integrates well...

The comments here seem to be generic. From "simple," to "ugly," to "not popular." In my opinion, the simplest, yet most nicest theme is Crystal! And the "not popular" statement can be deemed as untrue. Some of the biggest forums are powered by BBpress. And although the layout is simple, it's great for an extended blog sort of thing - most forums that use BBPress, are a discussion place for blog posts..

I used BBPress for my 'Disney travel agent' site and although it's not launched yet (and full content hasn't been added), I'm happy with the options available for BBPress so far.

BBPress Example: Tour The Magic Disney Travel Forum

Hi Arnyvee! Thanks for sharing your sample! I really like the smooth colors, the green and the header background. Will those colors stay, because, well, they don't scream out Disney.

Disney fans will recognize the design (plaid and green) as the colors that the V.I.P. tour guides that Walt Disney put into place back to when Disneyland first opened. So, although it doesn't scream out "Disney" (and I know what you mean), it was purposely designed that way with the Disney fans in mind :D

    Here's a picture as an example: .
