Banning Spammer question

I never delete accounts - that way I have a record of their last known ip address, email address and what other information they may have entered into their account.

Once you delete the account, all of that information is gone.

Kevin, this is exactly why I don't delete accounts. I hate deleting or getting rid of anything (you should see my garage), so I keep everything. Spammer accounts included. :p

Damn, this guy want go away!

He's been showing up in the currently active list on and off all day. What gives? I've banned the guy but didn't delete his account info. So the system should know this guys isn't allowed right?

Anyhow, I went through his account and restricted everything, no imagine posting, Avatars, Sig reduction etc. It probably doesn't do any good but I had fun

 

If you see him in who's online and see a stop sign that means he's viewing a no permissions message, because he's banned.

They will keep trying, for whatever reason. If it's a bot, sometimes the system doesn't recognize it's banned, so it keeps coming back.
