I think he was trying to point out that Jake wasn't immeadietly swinging from the nuts of Kier at Xenforo.

I see somebody has posted on XenForoSucks pretending it was me posting that message.

    http://xenforosucks....rby/#comment-13

Just to make clear, I didn't post that and have never posted on XenForo Sucks to date, apart from replying to that fake message pretending it's me. I wouldn't post on any site like that were the owner hides behind it - "David McHendry". That article is wrong anyway, as the first reply points out after Mike fixed XenForo server recently according to Brogan (who talks to Mike). What a load of rubbish, who ever is running that Blog has a personal grudge against KAM (more so Kier). That much is very obvious!

Well I'm out this thread now, things are getting too personal and unfair in what's being said towards others for my taste, along with a few other reasons. I'll leave you all to it.

My only wish is that someone at XF would man up and just simply state what is going on. Kier or Mike would have to step up and say this, I don't think I could really trust what a moderator says and probably Ashley as well. I think everyone wants to hear from the horse's mouth so-to-speak.

With so much uncertainty and then having that Q&A thread unanswered after so much time, I really feel like the money spent on XF licenses has turned into full-on loss, financially speaking.

I will agree with others about Jake & Slavik -- their approach is driving the image of XF into the ground. There are a lot of people watching, whether they vocalize that or not. Jake is a great technical support person, but I think his outward appearance for PR purposes needs a gross overall. Slavik - while I think intentions are good, I don't suspect he has a strong understanding of interacting with customers as a company representative. (Moderators that oversee a company forum are in all senses, representatives of the company, paid or unpaid)

One point of concern, I have not seen addressed: A statement regarding the storage and control of personal information entrusted to XenForo Ltd. From a risk management point of view, it seems that access has been granted to third-parties who are not contractual employees of XenForo Ltd. Therefore, there are no risk controls around the personal information of customer data stored in XenForo systems. From what I understand, XenForo doesn't need to comply with PCI standards since they delegate payment handling through PayPal as their merchant processor. However, they do store names, emails and addresses. (Company Name and/or VAT ID's where applicable) Personally, I would prefer that a clear statement be made in regards to controls around access to customer data for third-parties.

I'm not personally familiar with UK law in regards to the above concern, so this for now, is just a 'concern' that I think needs to be formerly addressed by XenForo Ltd. Directors.

I don't see an edit button?

Ah well, I just ran across this thread.

    xenforo-com/community/threads/clarification-of-mods.36083/

Personally, doesn't satisfy my own feelings about it. It seems that they were just 'asked' to help out for free, but all we know about them is their involvement in the community. It bothers me that they just bring on support people just by asking and then giving access to customer details. There are ways to provide support without revealing customer data that isn't absolutely necessary for a support request. License transfers in particular, probably require access to more details but should only be conducted by a paid employee who is liable for any misuse or leak of customer information.

Don't let it bother you. Jesus himself would be beaten to death over there now. That place is like a bad car wreck. You know you shouldn't slow to look at the carnage, but, you just can't help doing it.

    You're wasting your time Peggy.
I made a similar post and the whole thread was locked and then silently deleted, but not before the fan boys had been allowed to attack.

For me, that is the biggest change over there in the past few months.
The fan boys are allowed to attack and hound anyone who dares say anything negative about XF, aided and abetted by the moderators.

It's a toxic cesspit and I'm glad I'm out of it.

(No doubt one of the more rabid fan boys will now attack this too.)

To be fair reading your first post started on XenForo. I'm not surprised you got some funny comments posted quick. You ended it saying "counts the minutes til this thread is closed", then added a sarcastic smiley looking up in the air. I also have to agree with Slavik, things was nothing like they are now on XenForo when you was a mod there. Things was getting developed and there was very little to complain about really back then, nothing at all like now.

Agree on that one, it's been going on for a long time that, even when I used to post on XenForo. They do tend to let other fan-boys put you down and sit back watching it happen as staff, encourage it even I'd say! Even you was staff there when it used happened as well, to be fair.

I'm not saying they should close the threads, just be more vigilant in removing the obvious abuse aimed at others. Arguing in a constructive manner is one thing, but allowing the bashing of another by multiple fan-boys is something else. Leaving it only makes it look like staff are encouraging other customers to bash and insult anyone that dares say a negative thing about XF.

I may well have allowed robust debate, but I never permitted insults, name calling and trolling, whether from customers, fan boys or anyone else.

What's happening now over there is one of the reasons I quit - I never wanted to be put in that situation and could see where it was headed.

What do you think it will take for that place to completely implode? Or do you think those moderators can keep putting band-aids on everything before at least one of the developers returns to a participating role (if ever)?

It's one of those things that it's so bad, you know you shouldn't look, but you do anyway?!

Another thing about XenForo and the fan-boys. Take note of that thread Peggy started and how in the last few replies certain people are now trying to bring vB5 (vB4) into things. It's getting boring keep seeing certain people (vVv and 8thos) in this case try and turn topic on it's head talking about XenForo v's vBulletin. All they are trying to do, is take the heat away from XenForo in it and bring vBulletin into the fray instead. Done to divert what the thread was about in the first place, turning it into yet another vB bashing thread come the end.

Slavik and Jake just can't win now. Kier (or Mike if still there) needs to step up and say something in public, forget Ashley. Nobody is going to accept anything less than that, not anymore. Nobody cares what the mods have to say because it's not coming from horses mouth.

Peggy gonna love this one just posted in her thread. Can hear her blood boiling now. :lol2:

Oh! And *Digital Doctor* is running around XenForo now like a crazed madman creating thread after thread about vBulletin 5 Connect.

What a vB trolling noob he is!
