I'm going to guess the CMS isn't 100% finished and ready for a live site yet.

    Just a guess.

Would still like to see some more done with the postbit. The changes are initially positive for me, though. Definitely like the glow and "new" header.

Black font, and it is legible.

I am truly happy and blessed. If I had 1 wish that was it.

The New Posts still are not too friendly.

Neither is the cluttered header area, IMO.

    • FAQ can be under Quick Links
    • The "Forum Actions" menu is unnecessary; its contents could be in the Quick Links menu.
    • Calendar can be under "Community"
    • In the top right, "Notifications" menu is unnecessary when there are no notifications to display.
    • The "My Profile" link is unnecessary, as the username (Welcome, Username) serves as a link to the profile.
It's way too cluttered up there, with just about no room for us to put our own additional links in.

Looks like they're closed again. Anyone know how long it's been?

It was a little before 3:30 EST I think when they went back under maintence.

Home tab is back, and this could be the CMS unvieling.

The CMS is looking surprisingly good to me, at least in terms of general layout and what not. Still undecided whether I'd ever use it though.

I feel the same, we dont need a homepage and only wanted the blogs thus our reluctance to upgrade to the suite.

It is a shame they havent sold all of them seperately, the forums, the blogs and the CMS. Its been bloody forced upon us to be honest for as long as we would like to keep our members blogs. We dont need to use it but were sure paying for it :(

Its a cycle. Start small, add a little, connect them, then make it AIO, then break them apart again.

    Rinse

    Repeat

    :spin:

About time we get to see the CMS. This is EXACTLY what i need because we right a slew of reviews and thats the first thing i want people to see when they pull us up in google. Secondly, this stuff is instantly submitted and indexed in google. Now, whats the story on skinners and template modders like Miner and those guys?

I do believe the CMS looks a whole lot more useful and well thought out than some of the previous features on vb3.8.

I'll look at it in far more detail when beta is released, and keep glancing at theme until then.

I do wish they would specify units when they upgrade. "Back in 30" might have been 30 days. LOL...

To me, the CMS seems confusing and unintuitive. I can't really find anything, and haven't figured out how to master its navigation.

This is a concern, because if I can't figure it out, then how many regular users (who are in no way computer savvy) going to be able to navigate without issues?

I hate the new style. I liked the older one better. Also, the CMS layout doesn't seem all that impressive to me.

I hate to say, but with just about everything else that people don't like about the styling on certain forums, either change it, or hire someone to change it. :/

I doubt it, but there may be a way to change the layout with vB's CMS similar to the way you can change the layout with vBa's CMPS. We won't know until there's a public beta, or if a beta tester would post the answer here.
