    That isn't true.

I bought my new license based on the following page:

    View attachment 657

The left hand column is the forum only package, the right hand column in the suite.

    I have bought the suite.

Access to vbulletin.org is a right under the license purchase that they are continuing to deny me.

Interesting posts guys. Mark, I believe you are right. But remember whom we are dealing with and it may take time. I am still shocked that these guys kept selling vBulletin maintenance upgrades and new software with the full knowledge that they were going to make all of them worthless.

Then I'd bring that up, and raise some hell. If they're going to advertise it, they better grant it :mad2:

I doubt that raising hell at this stage is going to get anyone anywhere. Civilised dialogue is the key.

I think they've over reacted by removing my vbulletin.org access, but the same charge could arguably be levelled at myself for some of my comments on their forum. Things have been heated this past week and we're all human.

Hopefully this can be resolved without any more rants from either side, if so then both parties can put it down to experience and forget it happened.

I'll see what happens when they get my ticket. I presume Ray will pick it up.

It's happened, and for more than one reason. All Ray has to do is "think" you're a bad guy (based on private conversations) and that's it.

    Nope, not at all.

And never ban paying customers without reason. This will most definitely end nowhere good.

Good luck with that. Ray is definitely not civilized and rather stubborn and bullheaded.

Really. That was absolutely unconscionable. Imo, they have taken a lot less heat for that than they deserved.

(Unfortunately, the people who take most of the heat are staff who are not in a policy-making position. Which is also unfair.)

These actions probably were illegal or could be overturned by a court. "Good faith" is a part of every contract, and the bad faith shown by vBulletin is really shocking. And undeniable.

I've already contacted a couple attorney's to try and find out if what they've done to me and Mark is illegal. The banning on vb.org seems like it's purpose is purely to disrupt the customer's sites.

After reading this thread, i have a question.
Why are you waiting for emails?
You should be on the phone with customer support, asap.

Banned is one thing, disabling his software license, with out compensation or without him breaking the contract thru a VALID means of cancellation is not acceptable. (complaints on a forum are not valid cancellations)

Your voice will go WAY farther than an email ever will, even in this day and age.

I would like to point out that thanks to Wayne's kind assistance, my access to vbulletin.org will be restored shortly.

From my perspective, this matter is now closed satisfactorily. I won't have access to vbulletin.com's forums and that's fine, but nonetheless I support the staff in the difficult job they are trying to do in future during this transitional period, and I further accept that whilst some decisions may not have been popular, it is probably better to wait and see the final picture when all the changes and development work is complete.

I would also like to make it clear that neither Wayne nor anyone at vBulletin has asked me to post the above, it's my own stance going forward. I've been a bit too mouthy, and not even to the right people, and I'd prefer now to start my relationship with vbulletin from scratch and see how things go.

Finally, I'd like to say that as a result of this, my intention now *is* to move to vB4 at some point in the future. I've always made clear that doing that would be an absolutely huge piece of work for a fledgeling php coder like myself, but with assistance from the various official and non-official vb-related sites, I will eventually get there. Probably when vB6 comes out....but I'll get there. :D

I will accept any and all criticisms at this point, so feel free to flame away. I've probably not handled this as well as I could have. :(

Hopefully - one day I'll be allowed back on to vbulletin.com, as if I'm going to use vB4 at some point, I'll probably need some help.

Glad to see you managed to get your vBulletin.org access back. I wouldn't worry about .com though, too much locking of topics, and you could get your help on AdminAddict!

Good news Mark, glad to see your situation was resolved to your satisfaction. Sorry for all the trouble you had to go through. I saw you on vB.com when all this was happening and I have to say that I don't recall seeing any posts from you that warranted a ban. Granted I didn't read everything, but for the first couple of days when it was chaos over there, I was pretty active reading all the discussions and even posted twice.

My site is pretty much locked into vBulletin at the moment, but I haven't decided if I will upgrade to 4 yet. If I do it won't be before 4.2 is release. I am more interested in seeing the finished product before making my upgrade decision. I may very well skip the whole 4 series and upgrade when 5 comes out. Tough decision, but it is what it is.

Ok I have had dialogue with vb now, and the matter will shortly be 100% resolved in all ways.

I shall stop moaning and complaining about nothing and go back to how I used to be many months ago. Yes, I've yo-yo'd, but for the last time.

In a way all this has been good as I now see things in a different light.

Don't you mean a monologue mark? I find this hilarious and a poor tatctic to scare customers. Now the question that really needs a response is how big was the log in the customers pants and how much did it weigh?

I'm assuming the larger the mass the more frightened they were. :D

*Sings when a hero comes along*

Fair point but I did overdo it a bit. I think I looked a bit of an idiot. And I wasn't frightened into anything, Wayne had already sorted things for me but I decided to go a bit further and resolve it 100%.

Of course I don't suddenly think all is sweetness and light but then I never did, I just didn't whinge about it incessantly in the old days, I said my piece politely and moved on to the next thread.

That's what I'll be doing from now on.

That's the thing mark. You didn't really do anything that warranted the ban. Although right now you may have felt you accomplished something you indeed accomplished nothing.

oh well. Let's all have a sing a long and raise a glass of champagne up in the air for those better times that lay ahead.
