Lol, I do have other things to do, it's Spring/Summer, though, so no sports, etc.

But, I tried viewing it via the "Unread Posts" link, though, that should not have anything to do with it.

 

Seeing as it is indeed an individualized private forum, doing so would have something to do with the error you received.

 

Tom if you go into that forum and try to read the announcement from there, can you view it? Or same error?

It doesn't show in the Announcements forum.

 

No, go into the "Contact the Staff" forum and there will be two announcements (above where Sticky posts would be) - one for the contest and one for the Contact the Staff section. See if you can read the latter.

BTW - I'm getting the same error as post 288 in this thread when viewing announcements from the unread posts list (do not have permissions), I need to to to this announcements forum and click on threads like this one. (just a heads up cause you already have input on that issue in this thread).
