I wouldnt think AA would use such a hack but even if they did, who really would give that much of a crap? It wouldnt be any of our business  Good to see any errors fixed too :) How did the error occur?

We're not sure, to be honest. It appears to have been a fluke.

I always worry about things like this myself, it is very rare a member reports a db error and if you dont have the emailing set up for it you wont hear of many. I would like to find out how to do a repair like this via SSH, I havent tried that before, sounds much more complex :D

Awhile back digital point lost about 30,000 members. When someone asked what happened, Shawn said he cleared out everyone that had not confirmed their email address.

When you have an active forum, you will get people (or bots) that sign up and never click the activation link in their email. For some people spam blockers might have blocked the email. For other people, they just never clicked the link.

But for whatever reason, forums will build up a group of members that never activate their account, never make a post, and never log back in once they register. So that might be what your seeing.

Weird, I experienced this error, as a user, on another forum a few months ago. Not sure what happened in the end, though.

Accidents are a part of life, that's why they made Huggies.
