You know what would be a really nice forum feature?

That's not in current forum software? The 'draw art direct to the server' feature from Oekaki software, so that members with no technical experience or art programs could draw images through a flash program or java applet and it saves and uploads the image on submission. Considering how used these types of software are on artist sites and general fan sites on the internet, it'd be quite a cool feature to be able to enable on a per forum basis.

Other features I think would be good are taken from image boards, like 2chan's image board (Japanese), and the infamous 4chan, the abilities to force a member to upload an image when making a topic (that'd be quite useful for fan art or art show off forums personally, or for an improvised gallery feature)

Similarly, the option to 'sage' posts would be nice. Aka, you can reply to a topic but not bump it up the topic list.

The whole anonymous tripcode posting would be interesting as a feature on English forums.

Finally, I think it'd be really nice to have an anti bump type feature, which sends a topic DOWN the topic list, knocking spam or trolling off the front page and minimising the attention it gets from eager users.

Quick reference in case you don't know what I mean by those features:

Oekaki - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Imageboard - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    Anyone agree?

Oh, and in case you wonder why I want these features... it's because while I'm setting up an actual oekaki script on my server for users, it'd be nice to have the feature integrated into the same source as the forum, and counting towards the same post count.

Sage posting would be easy, just set it so if the thread is saged, the threads last post time simply doesn't update.

Might look into the image board-esque features in more detail later on, I can see how they'd be useful. Just might need to make some plugins. :D

Heh, I'm surprised no one's tried to make a modification for this really.

You know it occurs to me that this is actually possible with SVG.

May have to give it a go. : )

the drawing thing sounds awesome! sometimes members of one of my forums enjoy drawing silly pictures of things and posting it, but its harder having to draw it, save it, upload it to photobucket and then post it.......that mod would make it a lot easier and it is just soooooooooooo awesome!!!!!!
