Yet another...

Hi all,

I've been running a forum since December last year with no prior experience. I put up a temporary forum while another was down so we could all keep in touch. The other board was off for three weeks, whilst we tried to track down the site owner. When he finally surfaced there was a big argument, not to do with us though. Suffice it to say, I was encouraged to keep the temporary site running and it's being going ever since. You've got to love a breakaway forum, borne out of frustration and anger!

We went with phpBB and aped the other sites layout as the members were used to it. Caused big headaches as it started off cluttered, and needed a lot of effort to turn it in to something better structured. We still have too many individual forums, but I'm working on reducing them further. We have a modified theme on the site which took me many an hour to figure out, but it looks pretty enough now.

I'm mainly researching in to SEO and general site marketing, as the site pretty much runs itself. That's not to say we haven't had our share of arguments and stroppy members (even had hate mail too)!

Don't know if there are any other car enthusiast site admins on here I can steal some more experience from... I'm completely addicted to BMWs, and have two of their finest roadsters at the moment.
