    Honestly, leave it well alone. It was good years ago but fell way behind, had loads of security issues and has now been abandoned.

    Use MyBB instead, one of the original XMB people is involved in that I understand. I can't recommend MyBB highly enough, the only question is how well it would scale on a large site. I like what I see with MyBB.

    XMB was, at one point, a decent forum script - it's lacking when compared to today's other free alternatives (i.e. MyBB), and it's not even comparable to either Invision Power Board or vBulletin (in my opinion, of course). I've used this on a few of my "test" ventures, and, to be honest, it was lacking even when it was considered to be actively developed and/or used.

    I tried XMB once long ago, didn't like the look, scrapped it and installed phpBB.
