Do you have a limit/post count a user much reach before being able to send pms or visitor messages, if so, what is the limit and do you think it benefits your forum?

    :)

No, I see no point in restricting users.

No. I have never had enough of a problem with PM abuse to feel compelled to add such a measure.

Its called private message spam. People or bots will sign up on forums and send dozens/hundreds of private messages. Your site then emails the private message to the member.

I have a 3 post limit, and then the promotion script runs every hour. So they might have to wait anywhere from 1 - 59 minutes, depending on what time they registered.

I used to, but not any more. It used to be 30 posts before members could PM.

Why do you choose not to now? Was there any reason?

I chose not to purely because i didn't see a need to restrict it, i wasn't getting spammed to start off with, and i haven't. So i decided to unrestrict it again til i find it necessary.

Thats the problem with spammers, they can come at anytime and usually when youre asleep, your mods arent on and no one is there to clean up :D
