    Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone here was in tune with Word Press i just brought a new theme and installed it for my site - its one of those for a news/magazine and when you put an image in your post it is meant to show up etc however i have been trying for a good couple hours however have not been able to get it working properly (link in my sig to check it out) and was wondering if anyone out there in admin addict world knew enough about word press in order to be able to fix it?

There's a thumb option you add to the section right under the post page. I forget what it's called. Make sure the image is looking in the right directory for it and try using the same option you used for the ones you did get to work.

I can't remember how I got mine to work, hold on...

For a theme that has a very similar option to what yours does, I have to do this.

In Custom Fields below the post page in the dashboard, put this.

thumb - in Name of the Custom Field section
a link to the image - in the Value of the Custom Field section

Then click add custom field, that should work.

It might not be "thumb" that you have to put in, the developer usually sets the custom key for what will appear there.

On the skin i developed i used "post_thumb" for that field

There is also a plugin for it: Get The Image WordPress Plugin even though its old, it still works and what i was using to start with until i started doing the custom_key method.

thanks for all your help is was driving me up the bloody wall... I had to add image as the custom input field with just the name of the image - unfortunately it doesn't work for posts already made - even when you go in to edit but hey it is showing up on new posts which is the main thing.

    Thanks again for the help

Whoa. I love that scrolling forum posts thingie you got going on in the right sidebar.

    Nice.

Yes, thingie is a very technical term, I know.

Yeah it's just a basic javascript code getting it - i am still trying to find some more things to add to the site to make it look better :D If only there was somewhere else away from wordpress.org to get support or plugins etc.
