What do you see your forums growing into in the future, say five years from now? Do you have big plans that you plan to implement in the future? Or do you think your forum is pretty much done being "built" and is now just regularly maintained, and the only thing to look forward to is growth of the membership?

I think one of my forums is pretty much done in regards to its foundation. I don't plan to do any major software upgrades, nor do I think there is much to be added. The community is just about self-sufficient, so I essentially only do the back-end things that need to be taken care of. I wish I had the desire to be active within the community like I used to, but after almost two years, I'm burned out.

My other forums still have long roads ahead of them. One is only 6 months old while the other is just one month old; I plan to do a lot with both of them. I'm not sure exactly what changes I foresee though.

What about you all? What lays ahead for your forums?

I'd say the ground is set. I believe the foundation is built and now we're just sitting back and watching our community grow. Software changes and when we're ready we upgrade to the latest version.

two are done being built, have an active group of members and are doing well, and the other is just starting off, so we hope to finish off a few minor things, and then start promoting and get more members.

Once I announce that my new forum is open and I start my contest, I believe that it will grow rapidly at first, and if people do in fact like it, I believe that it will continue to grow at a steady pace.

In five years? I hope to have a completely established community with a very good reputation and possibly even partnerships with other communities and hundreds of thousands of posts (if not more). :)

I'm hoping that in 5 years, my forum will be a fairly popular online support group. I really want to network with, talk to, and get to know, other parents who have children with Asperger Syndrome, ADHD, and all of the other neurobiological disorders.

Everyone needs someone to talk to, especially if they're having difficulties. Even moreso if you have a child(ren) with difficulties or disorders. It's true that "no man is an island".

I want my site to be one where we can share information, articles, new findings; where we can share our thoughts and feelings; where we can vent and rant, laugh and cry, etc.

    That's my sole goal.

wow good question. well...ill be honest, I was a little nervous about making it thru the first year....but we're actually doing pretty good and continue to grow. my goal in 5 years is to still have good steady growth, the same mods as I do now, the same assit admin (super mod) as I do now, and be the number one toyota performance forum on the net.

For me I think now that we have the community on a solid platform like vBulletin it will really be dependent on how long the creator of Orbiter wishes to continue development. If one of these days he sets it down and no one else picks up the project I suppose the community would eventually slow down with no new development happening which would be a shame, but that is the nature of a software support forum I suppose.

From the looks of it though that is nothing that will happen in the next 5+ years, so we do have some exciting features planned for the future which would be unique to our community and niche. I think it's important to keep things fresh as time goes by, but the foundation has been laid so right now the work involved is mostly maintenance and upkeep.
