Whats better: Dark or Light Themes?

What type of themes do you like on forums, Dark or Light? And why...

 

Most hardcore gamers perfer the dark skins.....but almost everyone else enjoys the lighter ones.

 

True! I love the dark skins though

 

Like both to be honest. But if I had to chose it would be light ones.

I prefer light themes but honestly it determines what the topic of the site is. Like if it was a gaming forum I would say a dark theme and if it was a discussion/community maybe a light.

Well does Xenforo have a theme changer option? Where we can choose the theme we (anyone) wants to use? Well if you do just add another theme that we can choose from.

 

Yes XF has it by default, It will show up after you have 2 themes installed.

 

K then install the other theme so we can choose another.

I personally like dark themes, but light themes are also nice. I guess it all depends on how they look, like this one is great!

I prefer light themes over dark themes, although I have nothing against dark themes. I feel as long as a theme is easy on the eyes and easy to see overall, then I won't mind it. But if it's too dark, I'd make another selection if there are more options. Also, I'll choose a similar theme if they have one that's similar to the default dark one, but if it's not as dark.

 

I prefer light, their brighter, gives visitors with easier access.

My experience as a forum owner is that more people prefer "light" layouts. Speaking of layouts, I love the cream and black one being used here; if I convert to xenForo I will likely use it (if available).

 

Yes alot of people do prefer Light themes as it is easy on the eyes. Also they are more professional.
