... to ruin your community? Other than obvious factors such as the complete inactivity of members.

I think enough chain-drama could eventually tear the community apart to the point where there's no one left at all. I've seen it happen, so I'm pretty sure it's... dangerous. :ohi:

I think if the staff left. Forum would die in 2 days.

Really, Kevin? I'm on a Mac (using Firefox) and those links opened for me with no problems whatsoever. Yikes!

It took a little while to load here but never had a crash on FF XP SP3.

To be honest I am not sure what it would take, probably myself or my girlfriend no longer maintaining it I suppose. As long as we are present we will make sure we do our best to keep members and bring in new ones as well as the general promotion of it too, even if it was to die at some point we would give it life again for certain.

Not really sure what can but the only thing I can think of right now is that I would have to die or really loose interest in the community but then I would probobly sell it.

I can't see them dying. Well actually, the one that I resigned from, it was just complete disregard to developing the site. It was once semi-popular but then no upgrades, too much spam coming through, etc etc.. became too small and full of "cliques" who kept to their own groups and turned every thread into a circle jerk between them.

Checking it now, the site is still running on the exact same version of vB as it started on, in late 2004.
