Under vB Options, Message Searching Options (vBulletin Internal Search) you have the option to include words under the character limit you've set for searching. Since the default character limit is 4, that means you should include any three or two-letter words you think will be searched for often. This can be really dependent on your niche, but what words have you included?

We havent included any of as of yet but it might be a good idea for us to do so, for example we cater for teens with mental illnesses and members may search for things like ADHD etc thanks for reminding me :D

For the time being we are using the sql search and not the vB search so that option is ignored.

I'm quite anxious to see what improvements there may be in 4.0.

edit - we are using 'full text search'

If you're using the internal search just set the minimum characters to 3. However if you're using Full Text search (the default in 3.6 and higher), the settings on that page have no affect on the search engine.
