As an administrator, what mistakes have you made, but learned from?

I could present the same question to you, Tom. What decisions have you made in the past that you regret (or, would change today)? :)

Starting too many communities at once, and don't dedicate my time to all of them like I would do one. Start communities with the wrong people who claim they'll do things, but never get to it.

Haha, the irony. I had my fair share of that though, and yes it is a mistake.

Also the time when I deleted the language files by mistake and uploaded the wrong image files, and then the time when I started designing and deleted the skin by mistake. :)

I'm especially guilty of that, Nei - not doing things I say I may do.

I have started too many communities without thinking things through, buying too many paid addons which i no longer use and giving admin permissions to the wrong people who ended up stabbing me in the back.

I have let arguments go on too long when I should have nipped them in the bud.

    Too Many Communities?

Tom and Merk - you both indicated that you started too many forums at the same time. Based on this experience what factors do you take into consideration now to make sure that you aren't repeating this "mistake." Have you limited yourself to a certain number? Do you wait until a forum has reached a key milestone before starting an new one?

If anyone has any experience with this it would be very helpful!

    Thanks!
    RR

Actually this is one of my worries, that I'm going too fast or something, but to be brutally honest, as long as YOU can manage a forum and YOU are stable, you should be fine. You see many forum owners with more than 4-5 forums at the same time, it's a hassle, but it's all about cape abilities.

If you're new, always start slow, one forum at a time, wait a certain time in which you think one of your forum has been 'established' so to speak, and then start another one, or if you think you can manage two at a time, then do so, but keep in mind you might get stressed out because of this, so I'd suggest you start slowly.
