I've begun storing various snippets of information in TXT files on my hard drive to make running my forum easier. My files include:

-SQL commands I use often, so I don't have to type them out each time
-real-world contact information for members that have given me their addresses, alphabetized by username
-a list of all the special features I've added, so I don't forget any selling points if I ever need to sell it quickly
-A list of any .php files I've modified and why... like a personal readme.txt
-a to-do list (actually I use project manager software for this, but I felt it should be on this list)

What files do you keep on your forum?

I usually keep all my files printed out, just in case my computer gets hacked, nothing really important gets damaged or no information goes to the wrong hands.

A to-do list, passwords for my FTP/Server, account names, phone numbers of some of my staff members, designs I need to make and such.

Hm, I don't really keep any of that stored, as it's readily-available when I need it (usually).

What program/software do you use, if you don't mind me asking?

I use dot Project for the to-do list and just plain Notepad for everything else.
