What keeps you going as a forum owner or admin?

What keeps you going as a forum owner or admin? Is it the passion and the love? Or is it apart of your job?

Or you just like to run them for fun?

For me its the passion and love. I love my forum and specially the community here, and thats what keeps me going.

 

Its my job and passion. I get paid for my passion

 

The community keeps it going, as without that, there is no forum

 

True.. AdminBB is lucky to have a great community.

I love to see the community grow rapidly and I love meeting new people. It's also my passion non-the less.

 

Same here, im very social which is another reason for me loving forums.

 

I love my forum, so I do it for passion.

 

I love meeting and helpig people out.So that in itself is passion that carries over to my forums.

As many have said, I'm a forum owner because of my passion for the subject (music) and my desires to meet others with similar interest. It's also helped me to expand my musical horizons, which has been really cool. Of course, it's nice to gain popularity and maybe even a few bucks (we certainly haven't yet, haha), but that's just an added bonus for me.

 

Mostly my desire to learn new things with my forum keep me going. I also set up small goals to fulfill to make things easier instead of becoming overwhelmed.

 

The community. There were times when I just wanted to call it quits, but the community was always there , wanting to keep it going.

 

Same here, It has happened to me.. but its the passion and my members that keep me going

 

At this point, other than the community, nothing.

But it gets me something to do.

 

Community is also an important factor, less likely to quit when there are people that really enjoy your site and would hate to see it go.

 

I agree, the community is the reason for a site's success.

 

Most important part of the site really. Reason why a lot of sites that are purchased by someone start failing when the new owners make changes, the 'hivemind' really doesn't look change, especially from an outsider.

 

My passion is people, and my love is my community - so thus, its my love/passion thats keep me going - and quite frankly, if it wasn't for my networking - and such, my community wouldn't be as popular as it is today - if you love people, then your community will rock on others.
