What is the most stressful thing about running a community forum?

For me, its not being able to please everyone. It gets very stressful when you try to make everyone happy, but you cant. I try my best but im not perfect.

Probably when you get the idiotic members who try and bash every little thing about the site and cannot come up with anything constructive for their reasoning's, etc.

I agree, they dont like one thing, then they try to make the whole forum look bad and then they try to ruin your reputation. Thats very stressing.

Yea, I also find the same when you sometimes get the "big shots" join a small forum that you run, who think they know best because they have x more amount of years experience than you.

As the old saying goes: If It Ain't Broke...DON'T Fix it!!! So why do these people have to come join your forum and point out every possible little thing wrong?

In the end, if it is actually a troll...4 words: Don't Feed The Troll!

It's not always being able to dedicate my time to my forum. I have a lot of things going on in my life and between work, bills, and etc life can get very busy.

I agree, that is another stressful thing, I have been through it. Specially when I had to leave AdminBB for 3 months which caused it to die, but I was able to get it back to life. My schedule is completely messed up now. School then long work hours :(

Be thankful you were able to rebound. AdminBB has great staff that have dedicated to the forums and I'm glad you were eventually able to return. For the longest time I thought you completely disappeared off the face of the earth and forgot about AdminBB. I may not post here a lot like some members but I check in daily and was keeping an eye on this place waiting for your return. :P

To put it bluntly, dealing with idiots.

    --

Also, trying to sort out arguments between members can be a pain and almost every time somebody gets hurt. You try to get the best result, but no way is the right way. It's tough, but you gotta do it,

I get stressed by the users who think they have to argue and give input on every little thing about your forum, usually pointing out all of its negatives. It's also lots of fun when someone breaks the rules, gets in trouble, and then explodes all over the forum. It hasn't happened with my own forum because it's so young, but on the other forum on which I'm an administrator, I've had to deal with such members in the past...not exactly my favorite thing. >_<

The most stressful thing for me is being able to make everyone happy. Its a lot of work to please staff members, guests and the actual contributors themselves. It just seems like theres always one person who is unhappy. Another thing that is stressful is making sure the forum stays "alive" and doesn't "die" overnight.

For me it would probably be people asking for more permissions. Nothing annoys me more than kids bugging me for "admin" or "mod" all day.

I would have to agree with Ash to the extreme on this one it's absolutely obnoxious when you get a member that is completely negative.

I agree.. and most of the time they do that because they are probably jealous of your site, and thats theirs may not be all that great, so they publicly bash you too make yours look bad.

Yeah and it's sad because they don't realize that by doing so isn't exactly making their website or themselves look any better if not worse.

Really dosent. Their sites never last anyway. You always see them go from one site to another.
