For quite a while I've been unhappy with my DJ forum's load time. It just felt plain sluggish but I wasn't using much more than 70% of available RAM on my VPS at any given time. Throwing more money at hosting wasn't the answer.

This morning I set out to change that and found this little gem on vB.com: https://www.vbulletin.com/forum/entry.php/2391-Supercharge-your

Configuration is trivial on vBulletin once memcache and it's PHP module are installed. Since my hosting is managed I had their techs do the memcache install.

Speaking in general terms pages are loading as fast as I can click links for the most part and it feels a good 30-40% faster.

You'd be a fool not to run memcache if you're able to install it! It looks like XF is able to use memcache too: http://xenforo.com/community/threads/speed-up-your-board-caching.5699/

    Anyone else using memcache?
