I have upgraded the demo site to vBulletin 5.1.2 Alpha 5.

There seems to be a problem with the new themes system. Trying to set display order or turn them on causes the server to timeout after the php execution time limit expires. Also the css doesn't load. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

In any case check it out.

Or maybe it's just a load of garbage.

I found that if I "upgraded" it caused quite a few issues with lots of things failing to work as described, but with a fresh install things are working a lot better, the CSS is handy if you are using the default, but if you want it to work with any of the supplied themes you have to add it them in the acp.

Hey Bob. I reported to Mark that in your demo making the styles user selectable takes way too long. Do you mind sharing the server specs, so I can give them to Mark? Actually, I'll just send him here, should you post them. If you don't want them public, can you send them to me in a private discussion? I'll send them to Mark, with your permission, but then confidentially.

Yes that's be great, as I can't currently replicate the issue....though at first I thought I could. Might have been my own server coughing a bit.

I will log it and put the server specs in so it can be looked at to see if the team can replicate it.

    Server specs:

    Intel Xeon E7 Processor
    Supermicro MB
    48 Gigs RAM
1 Intel 256GB SSD Boot drive
    4 x Intel 256GB SSD in raid 10
    Windows 2012 R2 with IIS 8
    PHP 5.5.12, 5.4.21 and 5.3.23 vBulletin site runs 5.4.21
    MariaDB 5.5.32

    That's about it.

I honestly think the problem is none or very few beta testers running Windows/IIS. At the start of the vb3 development John asked me to be a part of a limited test group because I ran Windows/IIS. I think the original group had 5 people.

Thanks Mark. The problem can be replicated by setting the themes so users can't use them and then turning them back on.

Here is what I see when I shutoff a style.

    no-css.png

Once I get the PHP time limit error I can refresh the index and everything is fine. I also notice that even though PHP times out the settings do actually change.
